The career field I'm interested in is the medical field, and I have been captivated to become a nurse practictioner.
The reason I thought about this career field is because I love to help people and to make them feel better. Also my family is encouraging me to become a nurse or to be in the medical field because they think I have the potential of being a successful nurse because I'm not scared of needles, blood, or anything gruesome. They think I'm ready to be a nurse and they push me to go for a high-ranking nurse.
Being nurse means to help people and make them feel better, happier, and healthier everyday. I would like to make the elderly, adults, teens, and children smile everyday and have them know that someone is there for them. Everyday they see someone smile, and they get to assist doctors. They wear scrubs, which is pretty awesome, and they have the ability to save someones life, they literally have lives on their hands. Nurses handles medicines, paperwork, and they associate with the other nurses, patients, and doctors.
To be a nurse practitioner, you have to be fast, brave, confident, and ready. Anything can happen at anytime, so nurses always have to stay on their toes. To enter the nursing industry as a nurse practitioner, you have to have a Master's Degree and have a license as a nurse practitioner. You have to know about health for the human body, help care for the patients, and care for the population.
I am suited for this career because I believe I have the potential and the traits to succeed as a nurse practitioner. I'm smart, cunning, fast, and I'm brave enough to take on any obstacles. I'm great with people, and I'm very careful and cautious, but I can be aggressive when I need to be.
To gain experience, students may take internships at companies, such as Johnson & Johnson, or volunteer at a local hospital to get a feel on how it is in the real environment. Also clincs, or other medical offices may assist you on getting experience, before diving into the real thing.
I have found out that there has been a growth in the jobs for nurse practitioners, and that it will continue to increase because of the demand of nurses in the medical industry. That's a good thing because that means that there is a good chance for others, including myself, to apply and receive a job as a licensed nurse practitioner.
